The fitting process for Bespoke Shoes, The Solely Original Journey

For centuries, traditional shoemakers have been handcrafting shoes, made to order for individual customers. Our founder, Iris Anson has modernised traditional shoemaking.

Adapted specifically for modern women, we aim to resolve the issues you may have with buying shoes. Therefore, in a new series we’re answering any FAQs on our service, starting with the fitting process for bespoke shoes. By the end of this series, you’ll know every detail of our highly personalised service- and be ready to design your own!

The fitting process for bespoke shoes

How long does the fitting process for bespoke shoes take?

Our fitting process prioritises modern women. Therefore, we know that, no matter how you spend your day- it’s going to be busy. Traditional shoemakers are, well, traditional. They recommend up to four fitting appointments, which require you to visit their studio.

We offer two fitting services, and neither option will take you more than ten minutes.

If you have an hour to spare, and you’re within commuting distance of our East London studio- come visit us! View our sample shoes and exclusive shades and fabrics, and discuss design details. We’ll also use our 3D scanner- our innovative technology takes your measurements within seconds. After this, the data is instantly shared with our craftsmen- so there are no delays. By using medically precise technology to capture your data, we can create your made to measure shoes, efficiently.

How are foot measurements taken for bespoke shoes?

Plus, we offer a remote fitting kit. After you’ve placed your order using our online 3D designer, you’ll receive a fitting kit through the post. Just make sure to select the ‘Custom Size’ option when you’re designing.

Essentially, everything within the kit will help you create a mould of your feet. In addition to the instructions within the kit, you’ll gain access to a tutorial video. We’re happy to guide you over the phone or Skype.

Our fitting kit will only take 8 minutes. So, you can do it between picking the kids up from school, when you get home from work or while you’re waiting for your dinner to cook!
