Interview with personal stylist, Claire Jacklin

‘I did a fashion design degree but knew I wasn’t a designer as such,’ Says Claire. ‘While I was working at the London College of Fashion I attended a lecture with an Image Consultant talking about Colour Analysis and Style Personality,’  Immediately, Claire knew she had found her calling. Now, after training in London to be a Stylist, Claire is a Cardiff based personal stylist.

‘Being a personal stylist is so much more than clothes,’

We’ve all had those moments, where a dress we love just doesn’t look right. As a personal stylist Claire Jacklin is a modern day superhero. Saving women time, by showing them that less is more! Highlighting specific accessories, colours and styles to compliment individual body shapes and types.

‘Helping women to re-gain their confidence, to accept that they too, deserve some ‘me time’ and to help them feel like themselves again,’ Says Claire, discussing what the most rewarding part of her job is.

In fact, Claire is bringing women together, with her brand new style clinics. Currently based within a Cardiff beauty salon, personal stylist Claire Jacklin, holds monthly workshops to get together. Spending afternoons or evenings discussing styling queries, or any related questions for that month has been rewarding for clients! Keep up to date with any future sessions by following Claire on Instagram @clairejacklinstylist.

Seeing women support women is what we believe in. Previously, we spoke to Bea Wood, Miss Transgender UK about how she is empowering women too.

‘As  busy mum and wife, I know what it is like to juggle many balls,’

Additionally, Claire is a mum of two! Over on Instagram, Claire is documenting life as a business woman with a young family. Claire is changing the stigma around working mums- why can’t we have our cake and eat it too? Before,  female founder Sue Nelson told us about her struggles with motherhood and business too.

‘I panicked thinking this was going to be immensely time consuming and a mission impossible,’

In fact, independent women are common across Claire’s family. After she had a styling brief for the Lord Mayor of Cardiff- also her mother in law, Claire became introduced to us.

Before reaching out to us, Claire was briefed with finding ‘soft, handmade leather shoes.’ Over on her blog, she’s written all about the process her and her mother in law went through for her made to measure shoes from Solely Original. Including, a Saturday afternoon using our remote fitting socks, and the exciting moment her design came from the online 3D designer, to the Mayor of Cardiff’s feet.

Solely Original met this deadline and I was hugely relieved to say that the shoes fitted to perfection! In fact, they not only fitted to perfection but they are extremely comfortable too, which was a HUGE RELIEF!’
