The runways predict the hottest trend of shoes for summer 2018 to be pairing socks with heels, and being the sockophile that I am, I couldn’t resist taking inspiration from Vogue’s Ultimate Shoe Guide. Even if I don’t usually love the look of socks and heels, I do love all the shoes in this collection, whether they’re paired with socks or not.
Shiny Pink Strappy Heel
Miu Miu (via Indigital):
Solely Original Interpretation:
I love how completely feminine these summery shoes look. The dainty straps, diamante adornments, and shiny pink material make these shoes look like the perfect addition to any summer or spring dress. Though it may not be in the 3D designer, you can design the shoes however you want by booking a Skype style session, giving you the summery sandals of your dreams.
Tartan Oxfords
Miu Miu (via Indigital):
Solely Original Interpretation:
Here at Solely Original, we happily provide brides with shoes made with their family tartan. When I saw these tartan Miu Miu oxfords, I knew that these would turn out beautifully in the 3D designer. We may not provide bright pink socks, but we can provide you with the perfect tartan shoes to pair them with.
Silver Mary Jane Flat
Giambattista Valli (via Indigital):
Solely Original Interpretation:
These ballet flats are absolutely adorable, from the nude Mary Jane strap to the little white bow. Paired with a simple sundress, these would bring an element of innocence to the outfit. I love the contrast between the shiny silver material and the matte strap, but I think these would be just as cute with the strap left off.
Yellow Boots with Snakeskin Accents
Givenchy (via Marcus Tondo):
Solely Original Interpretation:
Though the snakeskin accent may not be as prominent in my interpretation of these boots, the subtle pop of snakeskin on the heel still pairs perfectly with the soft yellow leather of the rest of the boot. These shoes make me think of the desert, with the snakeskin and the sunshine yellow. The sunshine yellow and snakeskin also reminds me of snakes warming themselves while napping in the sun.
Glitter Toe Pumps with Blue Straps
Undercover (via Indigital):
Solely Original Interpretation:
These strappy pumps would be perfect for a holiday party or a night out. The blue and gold complement each other well and the different types of shine make them all the more exciting. Being me, I absolutely love these shoes, since I’m obsessed with glitter and my favourite colour is blue. I couldn’t resist making my own version in the 3D designer, and I’m so in love with what I came up with!

White Pump with Silver Diamante Accent
Saint Laurent (via Indigital):
Solely Original Interpretation:
Though perhaps simple, I found these white silk pumps to be fun and versatile. The metal toe tip adds an unexpected element to the design of a classic pump, and by contacting our team to schedule a Skype style session, you can also have the toe studded, like the original design. I decided to take the sparkle up to the ankle strap, so that you can wear this shoe in a variety of settings. With a pair of skinny jeans, these are great for the office, but with a fit-and-flare dress, they can be the perfect plus one to a wedding!
Shiny Silver Snakeskin Print Pump

Solely Original Interpretation:
I chose to use a shiny silver lizard skin print on these shoes instead of snakeskin. I thought the smaller cell pattern complemented the shape of the shoe well, since it is a shoe that doesn’t cover a lot of the foot. I also decided to keep the pointy toe, since that made me think of the shape of a lizard’s body.
Blue Calf Hair Pump
Marni:
Solely Original Interpretation:
The clear acrylic heels on the Marni design give these shoes the illusion of floating, but I felt the shoe could use a little more grounding. I went about this by using black on the heel and sole. The round toe and calf hair on these pumps are giving off serious slipper vibes, and I think it’s high time for slippers to become high fashion.
Strappy Tartan Heel
Burberry (Marcus Tondo):
Solely Original Interpretation:
These platform heels are perfect for someone looking to bring a little splash of tartan to their summer wardrobe. By using subtle colours, you can discreetly show the world your clan, or you can simply wear your favourite tartan!
With or without socks, these heels are such a great source of inspiration for shoes for summer 2018. If you were inspired by any of these shoes and want to try your hand at designing shoes, our 3D designer can help!
