Hands up- who’s spent hours the last few days scrolling through slideshows of celebrity couture dresses? Awards season is in full swing, Hollywood’s elite are being dressed by the fashion world’s elite. After Sunday’s BAFTA’s, celebrating the past year’s best movies and tv, I was left with one question. Who wore the best shoes at the BAFTA’s this year? Taking inspiration from the masses of beautiful, couture dresses- here’s how to use this season’s materials and colours when you’re designing your own shoes.
Who wore the best shoes at the BAFTAs?
All white everything
First of all, for a few years, feminine tailoring has been a hot red carpet trend. American singer Mary J Blige took a romantic take to the trend, with a Ralph and Russo ivory tailored suit. Featuring a flowing skirt and an embroidered jacket, it was fresh from the runway.
Using the outfit as inspiration for designing your own shoes- let’s take the colour. Although they may seem bridal, these white leather pumps look great with on trend colours like fuschia or yellow. Beginning to design your own shoes is a few clicks away, on our 3D designer.
Looking green isn’t always a bad thing
After playing Queen Elizabeth in the Crown, Claire Foy gave up her, well, crown, in the Netflix series. Next, wearing a decadent Oscar de La Renta emerald gown paired with a pale pink lipstick, to offset the look.
Plus, the forest green shade of Claire’s gown is inspiring and calls for a luxe material- just like these green suede court shoes. Featuring a premium sparkling embellishment, this pair will be great at helping you be red carpet ready at all times- just in case you get a call.
Banish the blues
After designing Meghan’s wedding dress, and artistic director Claire Waight Keller winning BFA’s British Womenswear Designer- Givenchy are having a moment. Actress Lily Collin’s wore a new season Givenchy couture, with a bold blue sheer skirt and satin blazer.
Taking inspiration from the bold colours and lace material- cobalt blue is a power colour for the upcoming season. The shade looks great with berry reds, for a dramatic finish.
